Makeup stains are among the most stubborn types of stains we encounter daily, combining heavy oils with strong pigments. Acting quickly and avoiding hot water are key steps for effective cleaning. Here’s how to tackle common makeup stains:

1. Removing Foundation Stains
Foundation contains oils, so it’s essential to first break down the greasy components, preferably with dishwashing liquid. This method is highly effective for oily stains. Gently rub a small amount of the cleaning liquid into the stain with your fingertips or a soft toothbrush, without scrubbing too hard. Let it sit for 10–15 minutes to penetrate the stain, then rinse with cold water only.
2. Removing Lipstick and Mascara Stains
Lipstick and mascara contain waxes, oils, and strong pigments. Place a clean cloth or paper towel under the stained area, spray a little hairspray or rubbing alcohol on the stain, and dab gently with a clean cloth or cotton to prevent spreading. Rinse with cold water, then wash as usual.
3. Removing Powder Stains (Blush, Eyeshadow, Pressed Powder)
Powder stains are dry and easier to remove as long as they haven’t been rubbed into the fabric. Use a hairdryer on a very cool setting to blow off the powder, then brush or wipe away the remaining particles gently with a soft brush or dry cloth, avoiding pressing too hard.
Following these steps can help preserve your clothes and fabrics while efficiently removing even the toughest makeup stains.
