The Social Security Investment Fund (SSIF) stated on Tuesday that all its investment decisions are made within a clear institutional governance framework, based on specialized studies and formal approvals. The Fund emphasized that any approved or implemented investment project is officially announced at the time, in commitment to the principles of disclosure and transparency.

In a press release regarding the financing of Jordanian diplomatic mission buildings abroad, the SSIF added that information on its investments and financial performance is available to the public through its official website and published annual reports. It urged the public to obtain information from official sources and avoid circulating fragmented or out-of-context information.
Denial of Financing Diplomatic Buildings
The Fund categorically denied financing the purchase or construction of Jordanian diplomatic mission buildings abroad. It clarified that 13 years ago, an investment proposal was considered and subjected to thorough study and evaluation at that time.
The proposal was based on the principle of lease-to-own (Financial Leasing), whereby the Fund would own the real estate asset and lease it to the Jordanian government. This model was intended to generate a stable, long-term investment return for the Fund.
According to the SSIF, the proposal stipulated that the Jordanian government would make lease payments to the Fund throughout the duration of the financial leasing contract. Ownership of the property would then transfer to the government upon the conclusion of the financing period and the completion of all payments.
Reasons for Not Proceeding
The Fund stressed that the idea was neither approved nor implemented at that time. The evaluation process revealed that several legal and procedural requirements associated with the nature of the project were not fully met in a form that would allow the Fund to make a final investment decision. Consequently, this prevented the project from moving forward under the conditions and data available at the time.
