The Ukrainian Air Force said on Thursday that Russia launched 74 missiles and 496 drones overnight at Ukraine.
It added on Telegram that air defense units shot down or neutralized 48 missiles and 476 drones, but 25 ballistic missiles and 12 drones struck 33 locations.

It noted that the capital, Kyiv, was the primary target of the attack.
Russian missile and drone strikes rocked Kyiv early Thursday morning, killing at least 8 people and injuring dozens of others, after President Volodymyr Zelenskyy warned that Moscow was preparing to launch a "massive attack."
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha urged his country's allies on Thursday to send more air defense systems following the extensive Russian attack that targeted Kyiv early in the morning, which killed at least 13 people according to an updated toll issued by authorities.
Sybiha called on Ukraine's allies "not to delay decisions regarding Ukraine's air defense," while Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported in a social media post that "a toll of 13 dead has been recorded so far" from the Russian attack, after a previous toll indicated at least eight fatalities.
