According to the European news outlet “Euronews,” Irish Deputy Prime Minister Simon Harris told reporters on Friday that “despite opposition, Ireland intends to continue advancing the bills,” adding that Ireland is not alone in seeking to ban trade with the occupied Palestinian territories.
Harris noted that there is strong sentiment in Ireland, Europe, and around the world regarding the genocide taking place in Gaza, stressing that the children starving in Gaza are part of the motivation behind this legislation.
