Trump: Suspect in Charlie Kirk’s Killing Apprehended
U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Friday that the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has succeeded in apprehending the suspect in the killing of right-wing activist Charlie Kirk.اضافة اعلان

Trump told Fox News in a live interview: “He was handed over by someone very close to him.”

Earlier, Trump had called on his supporters to respond to the assassination of his close ally, influential conservative Charlie Kirk, in a “non-violent” manner. Kirk was shot dead during a university event.

The Republican president said that the late Kirk “fought for non-violence. This is the way I would like people to respond” to his assassination. He also mentioned, without providing details, that he has an “indication” of the shooter’s motives, though the perpetrator was still at large at that time.

More than 24 hours after the killing, which shocked a deeply divided nation, authorities continued efforts to locate the perpetrator.

The federal police stated that they are following multiple leads in their investigation, but no suspects had been arrested as of that time.

Charlie Kirk, a prominent youth supporter of Trump and regarded by the American right as a “martyr,” was shot in the neck on Wednesday while participating in a public debate at a university in Utah, western United States.
