New York Times: U.S. Expands Visa Restrictions on Palestinians

According to the newspaper, citing unnamed officials, the restrictions go beyond previous measures announced by the Trump administration for travelers from Gaza. Under the new limitations, Palestinians will be barred from traveling to the U.S. for medical treatment, university studies, and business trips.

Two weeks ago, the U.S. State Department announced a suspension of all visitor visas for individuals coming from Gaza pending a “comprehensive and thorough review,” a move that has drawn criticism from pro-Palestinian groups.
