In a statement issued Sunday, Yemeni government forces reported that air defense systems intercepted a Houthi-affiliated drone during the strikes targeting Mokha.

Government forces added that a second ballistic missile landed in the city, without providing immediate details regarding casualties or property damage resulting from the strikes.

Mokha District is a vital coastal area administratively belonging to the Taiz Governorate, southwest of Sanaa, and is under Yemeni government control.

Earlier, Houthi forces targeted residential neighborhoods in the city of Marib with six ballistic missiles and four drones.

The Marib Governorate Media Office stated in a release that the Houthi shelling struck several residential areas across the city, resulting in injuries and causing material damage to homes, vehicles, and civilian property.

The statement added that civilian sites impacted by the bombardment included a bakery in the Al-Sharika neighborhood of Marib, where one citizen was injured.

Tensions have escalated between government forces and the Houthis across several governorates in recent times. Multiple battlefronts have witnessed a resurgence of clashes following Houthi missile and drone attacks on government military camps in Marib and Hadramout, which left dozens killed or injured alongside significant material losses.
