Six Martyred in Israeli Airstrike on Checkpoint in Gaza

Medics said an airstrike targeted a police checkpoint in the Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza early Saturday, resulting in the martyrdom of at least six people and injuring others.

Medics and police sources reported that a series of Israeli airstrikes has led to the martyrdom of dozens of police personnel affiliated with Hamas since October.

Israel and Hamas reached an agreement last October, brokered by the United States, aimed at halting violence in the Palestinian territories. Each side has accused the other of violating the agreement.

Since the agreement was reached, at least 700 Palestinians have been martyred by Israeli fire, while four Israeli soldiers have been killed by militants during the same period.
