According to initial reports by Israeli media, no injuries were reported. The Israeli military has not yet issued a detailed statement clarifying the circumstances of the incident or the fate of the person suspected of carrying out the ramming attempt.

The circumstances surrounding the Israeli forces’ use of live fire also remain unclear, including whether the suspect was injured. The information remains preliminary pending an official statement from the Israeli military providing further details.

Security Alert in the West Bank

The incident comes as Israeli security authorities have raised their alert level across the West Bank ahead of the Jewish holiday period, amid concerns over possible shooting, ramming and stabbing attacks.

As part of the security measures, the Israeli military has reinforced its forces deployed across the West Bank, with the number of battalions expected to reach around 26 during the holiday period, compared with approximately 18 or fewer under normal circumstances.

According to Israeli assessments, the reinforcements are intended to secure settlements and settler movements along roads, while strengthening deployments in areas considered more vulnerable to attacks.

Israeli military Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir has also stressed in recent days the need to maintain a high level of readiness across various fronts as the holiday period approaches, emphasizing that the number of forces assigned to operational missions should not be reduced.

The West Bank has witnessed escalating security tensions, alongside Israeli military operations and an expanded military presence in several areas. Shooting, ramming and stabbing incidents have further heightened Israeli concerns over the security situation during the holiday period.
