In a statement released on Wednesday, the Jerusalem Governorate reported that the occupation authorities have escalated their repressive measures against worshippers and "Murabiteen" (sentinels). The occupation police have tightened restrictions, even blocking access to the Al-Rashidiya School square. Meanwhile, the Murabiteen continued their prayers at the gates for the ninth consecutive night in protest against the closure.

On Tuesday evening, occupation forces prevented citizens from performing Tarawih prayers in several neighborhoods of occupied Jerusalem. Forces deployed around Damascus Gate (Bab al-Amoud) and Herod’s Gate (Bab al-Sahira), forcing worshippers to leave the area in an attempt to disperse them and prevent any prayer gatherings.
