Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz announced on Wednesday the killing of the Iranian Intelligence Minister during Israeli airstrikes tonight, just one day after the death of the Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, Ali Larijani.

In response, the Commander-in-Chief of the Iranian Army, Amir Hatami, vowed on Wednesday a "decisive" retaliation for Larijani's assassination. In a statement, he declared: "Iran's response to the assassination of the Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council will be decisive and regret-inducing," adding that "vengeance for his blood will be taken."
Meanwhile, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced in a statement on Wednesday that it had launched a wave of ballistic missiles at central Israel as "revenge for Ali Larijani and his companions."
Iran officially confirmed late Tuesday the death of Ali Larijani, a key figure in the leadership, hours after Israel announced his assassination in an airstrike. According to a statement from the Iranian National Security Council, Larijani was assassinated alongside his son, Morteza, the security assistant at the General Secretariat of the Supreme National Security Council, Alireza Bayat, and others.
