IRGC Vows Overwhelming Retaliation as Iran Declares Mourning for Khamenei

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has pledged to deliver a “crushing and decisive revenge” against those responsible for the killing of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, in its first official response following the announcement of his death.

In a related statement, Iran’s Supreme National Security Council said that the “martyrdom of Leader Ali Khamenei will mark the beginning of a great uprising against the tyrants of the world,” signaling the likelihood of continued confrontation and escalation.

Meanwhile, the Iranian Fars News Agency reported that the Iranian government has declared an official mourning period lasting 40 days and seven additional days, with public holidays observed nationwide in mourning for the late Supreme Leader.
