According to the report, the Israeli political leadership has decided to allow Palestinians leaving Gaza via Rafah to return to the Strip, after a period during which return was prohibited.

Haaretz also noted that European forces will play a central role in managing the crossing, adding that these forces have already arrived in Israel and are ready to deploy in the area.

Regarding security procedures, the newspaper explained that Palestinians leaving Gaza will undergo remote screening by Israel through a computerized system, while those entering Gaza will be subject to Israeli physical inspection.

The Hebrew news site Walla reported that Egypt is applying pressure on Israel and the United States to open Rafah, aiming to facilitate the return of stranded Palestinians during the initial phase.
