The European Commission announced on Monday the launch of a €883.6 million ($1 billion) aid initiative for the Gaza Strip, in partnership with 15 international partners.
According to the Commission, the “Team Gaza Initiative” was launched during a meeting of the Ad Hoc Liaison Committee (AHLC)—the international donor coordination group for Palestine—held in Brussels.
The initiative will support ongoing and planned early recovery projects aimed at assisting the people of Gaza and helping restore essential services and infrastructure.
The Commission said the initiative brings together 12 European countries, Japan, the World Bank, and the European Investment Bank (EIB) as participating partners.
