On Thursday, the Syrian Ministry of Interior reported that nine people had been killed and 20 injured, adding that preliminary investigations indicated the explosion was caused by an improvised explosive device (IED) weighing about one kilogram and packed with metal fragments, resulting in severe casualties and extensive damage.

The ministry said the investigation remains ongoing and that any confirmed developments will be announced through official channels.

Meanwhile, Mohammad Ali Al-Tawil announced that six lawyers were among those killed, while seven lawyers were injured in the attack.

He noted that the café, located near the Palace of Justice, is frequently visited by lawyers and members of the public handling legal matters.

Al-Tawil said the Syrian Bar Association is coordinating closely with the Interior Ministry and judicial authorities to support the investigation and provide any necessary legal and technical assistance.

He added that the association is also monitoring the condition of the injured in hospitals and supporting the families of the victims, while pledging full cooperation to help identify those responsible and bring them to justice.
