Lebanese Army Commander General Joseph Aoun condemned the Israeli attack that targeted a Lebanese Army patrol on the Khardali-Nabatieh road on Saturday. The attack led to the martyrdom of two officers and a soldier, who joined the convoy of military personnel, civilians, children, women, paramedics, rescue workers, and journalists who preceded them.

Aoun said in a statement that this attack constitutes a flagrant violation of Lebanese sovereignty and international laws and norms. He noted that it comes in the context of continuous escalation that threatens stability and security in the south, despite the efforts made by Lebanon in the Washington negotiations to put an end to the continuous and undeterred Israeli attacks.
He emphasized that Lebanon will not compromise on protecting its land and people, stressing that these attacks will not deter it from upholding its full national rights.
General Aoun called on the international community to assume its responsibilities, put an end to these repeated attacks, and ensure respect for relevant international resolutions in a manner that preserves Lebanon's security and stability.
