Bahrain and Kuwait announced the activation of air raid sirens on Wednesday after the United States carried out strikes on dozens of sites in Iran, amid concerns that a possible Iranian retaliation could further complicate efforts to end the conflict in the Middle East.
In a post on X, Bahrain’s Ministry of Interior said:
“The air raid siren has been activated. We ask all citizens and residents to remain calm and proceed to the nearest safe location.”
Meanwhile, the General Staff of the Kuwaiti Armed Forces said Kuwait’s air defense systems were currently intercepting hostile missiles and drones.
The military added that any explosions heard were the result of air defense systems intercepting the incoming attacks, and urged the public to follow all safety and security instructions issued by the relevant authorities.
