The decision, proposed by extremist Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich and Defense Minister Israel Katz, raises the number of approved settlements to 103, following the approval of 34 new settlements last March across various areas of the West Bank and the Jordan Valley.
Smotrich had previously announced the allocation of 1.3 billion shekels ($434 million) for this settlement project, describing the approval as "historic" and claiming the step aims to strengthen Israeli control over the West Bank.
