The Palestinian Health Ministry in the Gaza Strip said Monday that transportation services for healthcare workers have stopped operating, warning of an imminent paralysis threatening the healthcare system.

In a press statement, the ministry said the sudden suspension of staff transportation services was not merely a logistical obstacle but posed a direct threat to healthcare services in hospitals, as doctors, nurses and technicians are unable to reach their workplaces.
It added that the disruption to transportation is affecting the quality of patient care and increasing pressure on staff currently on duty, raising concerns that vital departments providing life-saving services could be forced to suspend operations.
The ministry noted that the shortage of public transportation and rising individual transportation costs have made it impossible for employees to sustainably reach their workplaces at their own expense.
It called on all international institutions, relevant authorities and humanitarian organizations to intervene immediately to provide the oils, spare parts and fuel needed to resume operations of the medical transport fleet without delay.
The ministry warned that neglecting even basic operational requirements of the healthcare system amounts to a direct death sentence for healthcare services provided to Palestinians.
