The Kingdom is affected on Thursday by a relatively cold and moist air mass associated with a low-pressure system centered over the island of Cyprus. A noticeable drop in temperatures is expected, with relatively cold and partly cloudy conditions accompanied by intermittent rainfall, especially in the western parts of Jordan. Thunderstorms and occasional hail are also expected.
During the evening hours, rainfall may become heavy for short periods in some areas. Winds will be westerly and active, with strong gusts at times exceeding 50 km/h, stirring dust in desert regions.
The Meteorological Department warns of:
• The risk of flash floods during the evening and night hours, particularly in the northern and central regions
• Strong winds and accompanying gusts in some areas
• Thunderstorms and hail
• Reduced horizontal visibility due to fog and low clouds touching the ground in high mountainous areas and parts of the plains
• Reduced visibility due to dust in desert regions
• Slippery roads in areas experiencing rainfall
