TikTok's comment sections are getting a set of new updates, as the social network announced on Thursday the rollout of features including voice comments, polls within comments, comments with photo albums, and live photo comments.اضافة اعلان

With these additions, the app is borrowing some features familiar from messaging apps, in an attempt to boost user engagement on the platform.
By combining voice, polls, and photos within comments, the company aims to turn the comment section into a space where users spend more time and interact with one another, rather than it being limited to leaving replies beneath videos.

TikTok said in a blog post that sound and music have shaped TikTok from the start, with songs turning into viral trends and audio clips into jokes shared across the app. It said it is now bringing that same spirit to the comment section through voice comments, a new way to post and listen to voice messages directly beneath any video.

Voice Comments Up to One Minute Long
To add a voice comment, a user needs to tap the microphone icon inside the comment box, then record a voice message up to one minute long.
Once posted, anyone can tap the voice comment to listen to it.

A TikTok spokesperson told TechCrunch that voice comments are subject to the same community guidelines applied to all other content posted on the platform.
The company uses a combination of human review tools and automated detection systems, including speech-to-text technology, to identify and remove content that violates its policies.

Voice comments are set to roll out globally next month for users aged 18 and older.

Polls Within Comments
Content creators can now also add a poll when commenting on their own videos.
This feature was previously available to a limited set of users, but is now available worldwide.

TikTok says polls can be used in many situations, such as voting on the idea for the next video, choosing an outfit, deciding which dish to prepare, and more.
Creators can offer up to five options for viewers to vote on, along with setting a time limit for the poll.

Once voting begins, creators can track the results live from within the comment section.

Up to 9 Photos in a Single Comment
The photo albums feature within comments allows users to add up to nine photos in a single comment, after the app previously only allowed adding one photo at a time.

Users can now also add live photos to comments. TikTok says this feature shows "a brief moment of motion," allowing others to see a quick preview of the moment before opening the full photo. Live photo comments are already available to users worldwide, while the photo albums feature within comments will roll out globally over the coming month.
