In a post on the platform X (formerly Twitter), Musk wrote:
"Apple is acting in a way that makes it impossible for any AI company other than OpenAI to rank first in its App Store."
He described this behavior as a "clear violation of antitrust laws," adding that his AI company xAI will "immediately pursue legal action."
In response to Musk’s accusations, Sam Altman, co-founder and CEO of OpenAI, posted a comment on X, stating:
"Musk is using his platform to serve his personal interests, while OpenAI will continue focusing on delivering great products."
It’s worth noting that OpenAI’s ChatGPT currently holds the number one spot in the "Top Free Apps" category on the iPhone App Store in the United States. In comparison, xAI’s Grok ranks fifth, while Google’s AI chatbot is placed at 57th.
