According to Microsoft’s researchers, the project aims to produce highly realistic images that accurately depict lighting, reflections, and fine details in a way that closely mimics the real world.
One of the key advantages of the new model, the company noted, is its fast response time and ability to generate images that precisely and professionally match user requests.
“MAI-Image-1” is currently available on the LMArena platform, which allows users to compare the performance of different AI models. Microsoft also plans to integrate this model into its Copilot virtual assistant for PCs and smart devices in the near future.
The company’s move comes as part of its efforts to keep pace with software developers such as Google, Apple, and OpenAI in advancing neural network technologies. Microsoft is also working on its own AI video generation models, especially following OpenAI’s announcement of the second generation of its “Sora” tool, which creates videos using artificial intelligence.
