Instagram has announced the launch of a new feature allowing users to edit their comments after they have been posted—a long-awaited move aimed at enhancing the interactive experience within the app.

According to the company, users can edit a comment for a period of only 15 minutes from the time it was posted. Once this window expires, no further changes can be made.
Specific Restrictions on Editing
The new feature does not allow for the modification of all elements of a comment. Editing is restricted to text only. For instance, if a comment includes an image alongside text, the user will not be able to edit the image, only the accompanying text, according to a report by GSMArena.
Flexibility Within the Timeframe
Despite the time constraint, Instagram grants users the freedom to edit a comment an unlimited number of times within the first 15 minutes. This provides an opportunity to correct typos or improve phrasing before the final version is set.
Transparency in Edits
To maintain transparency, the platform will display an "Edited" label on comments that have been modified. This informs other users that a change has occurred, although the app will not allow users to view the edit history or previous versions of the comment.
This step is part of Instagram’s ongoing efforts to develop interaction tools and keep pace with user needs by improving the quality of content and communication within the platform.
