The messaging application WhatsApp, owned by Meta, is working on a new feature that will make it easier for users to send messages that conceal sensitive content behind a blurred layer.

With this upcoming feature, users will be able to mark specific text as hidden content before sending the message, causing it to appear blurred upon delivery.
Recipients will then be able to tap the blurred message to reveal the hidden text, according to a post on X by WABetaInfo, a website dedicated to tracking WhatsApp updates.
This functionality will assist individuals in sharing messages without immediate disclosure of details. Furthermore, the feature will reduce accidental spoilers within group chats, where not everyone may wish to view the same content at the exact same time.
The feature will be compatible with text messages and media descriptions, and it may potentially support photos and videos in the future as well.
This feature is currently still under development and testing, and it is expected to become available soon to beta testers of the WhatsApp application on both iOS and Android platforms.
