Thousands of users around the world reported problems and disruptions affecting OpenAI’s ChatGPT chatbot service on Thursday.
Data from outage-tracking website Downdetector and similar platforms showed thousands of user reports, with many receiving repeated error messages, most notably “Network Errors.” Users also reported that conversations were not updating, along with difficulties logging in or starting new chats.

Users also faced difficulties loading and using the ChatGPT website.
OpenAI’s service status page showed elevated error rates affecting ChatGPT and its coding tool, Codex.
OpenAI said it was investigating the issue.
The Grok app was also disrupted, with users reporting difficulties accessing Elon Musk’s AI-powered chatbot on Thursday morning, as the number of reports increased.
