The composition of Anthropic’s workforce and the nature of the tasks its employees perform have changed significantly over the past year, according to a report published by the artificial intelligence company on Friday.اضافة اعلان

Anthropic believes the shifts taking place in its workplace may offer an indication of “how AI will change the organization of work, employment and labor demand across different sectors of the economy,” particularly as the company has “comprehensively reshaped its ways of working around AI.”
However, even if other organizations do not adopt AI to the same extent or in the same way as Anthropic, the report provides an interesting glimpse into how the company currently operates.

One of the most notable changes highlighted in the report is the decline in the employment of junior staff. Their share of technical departments fell from 21% to 14% since the beginning of 2025. The decline was even sharper among new hires in technical roles, with the proportion of junior employees dropping from 27% to 9%.

Anthropic also noted that technical teams now account for a smaller share of its overall workforce, with their proportion falling from 61% to 56%.

The company attributed this decline to “the natural expansion of roles and business functions as the company grows,” as well as the fact that “coding tools increasingly enable employees without technical backgrounds to develop software themselves.”

According to the report, one employee described the working environment at Anthropic as involving “constant pressure to move as fast as possible and use Claude for everything.”

In a survey conducted in April 2026, 27% of employees said their productivity had increased through the use of Claude, while 20% said their jobs had shifted from “doing the work themselves to managing Claude models.”

One engineer appeared to compare this shift to childcare, saying: “When you take care of children, each child comes to you with problems that require the same amount of attention, and that is exactly what the different Claude models do as well.”

Indeed, the report indicates that “human attention and judgment” have become a “bottleneck” limiting productivity, as Claude generates a “massive stream” of text that needs to be read and organized.

Unsurprisingly, the report states that AI adoption has helped increase the company’s productivity, citing several indicators, including “more lines of code produced per employee, more sales deals completed per sales representative, and more contracts processed.”

Nevertheless, the company acknowledges that “producing more lines of code does not necessarily mean improving code quality or achieving a positive business impact.” At the same time, it says it has found no evidence of a decline in code quality.

The report also reveals, based on employees’ calendar data, that the time employees spend in meetings has increased by 20% compared with last year. The increase reached 16% among employees directly involved in technical work.

The company attributes this rise to the growing importance of “human trust and accountability,” noting that employees have repeatedly emphasized that “direct, face-to-face coordination is indispensable.”
