How does the innate immune system work?

Skin: It acts as a barrier that prevents the entry of bacteria and viruses, and secretes substances that help limit their growth.


Tag: If bacteria and viruses enter the body through an incision in the skin, certain proteins label viruses and bacteria to identify them as infiltrators.


Phagocytes: They are sweeping cells that search, ingest, and digest tagged germs and viruses.


Natural killer cells: You look in the body for malignant tumors cancer cells for example  and destroy them.
