Positive COVID-19 test ratio down on Thursday

AMMAN — The Ministry of Health announced that the number of COVID-19 deaths reached 82 on Thursday.  Meanwhile, 6,482 new cases were recorded in the Kingdom on the same day, bringing the death toll to 6,940 and the caseload to 618,059.اضافة اعلان

Breaking down Thursday’s tally, the ministry said that 2,832 cases were recorded in Amman, 780 in Irbid, including 88 in Ramtha, 655 in Zarqa, 403 in Balqa, 329 in Mafraq, 349 in Karak, 211 in Ajloun, 192 in Aqaba, 198 in Jerash, 171 in Tafileh, 86 in Maan , including 15 in the Petra region, and 276 in Madaba,

The ministry added in a statement that some 336 people had recovered and were discharged from hospitals while 424 others were admitted, as the total number of COVID-19 patients in hospitals stands at 3,364. The number of active COVID-19 cases in the Kingdom stood at around 90,621, the statement noted, as cited by the Jordan News Agency (Petra).

More than 7,354 COVID-19 patients, including patients who had been self-isolating, fully recovered. Around 13.43 percent of the 48,253 COVID-19 tests that were conducted Thursday came back positive, compared with 15.22 percent on Wednesday.
