According to a statement issued by Amman Design Week on Friday, the exhibition is open to visitors free of charge until October 17. It explores how shared everyday practices, physical environments and cultural memory intersect in shaping the objects people live with and the value they assign to them.

The statement explained that the hangar was built in the Ras Al Ain area in the 1930s, in a valley surrounded by Amman’s hills, to house electricity generators that supplied the capital with power. Over time, the building became a witness to the city’s modern and industrial transformations before becoming a landmark in its own right after being restored and transformed into a cultural space hosting major art exhibitions, lectures and various events.

The hangar features works by more than 90 local, regional and international designers. Across from the hangar, a public space opens onto details of everyday life through dialogues and gatherings, while additional artworks have been installed in the Ras Al Ain park opposite the hangar, drawing inspiration from the history of the city and the area.

Amman Design Week 2026 is being organized in partnership with the Greater Amman Municipality, with exhibitions and events spread across various locations in Amman and Aqaba, including Jabal Al Lweibdeh, Paris Circle, the Sharia College intersection, Iraq Al Amir, Jabal Amman and Aqaba.

Dar Abu Adnan in Jabal Al Lweibdeh, a restored house dating back to the 1950s, is hosting a number of exhibitions and events, including the third edition of the Student Exhibition.

The statement added that works are also being displayed at several locations in Iraq Al Amir, including Qasr Al Abd, where Dima Sarouji is presenting an intervention titled “Ahl Al Bayt,” alongside a work by Qais Al Rawi in collaboration with Julia Körner titled “Lamella Series in Clay.”

The statement noted that Amman Design Week has reached Aqaba for the first time through four works. In Jabal Amman, a group of studios, cafés and cultural centers are participating in the program through exhibitions, workshops, lectures and open days.

As part of the visitor experience, the week allows attendees to collect special cards identifying designers’ works as they move between exhibitions and keep them to create a personal collection that gradually grows as they discover more works and locations.
