SpaceJo: Precious moments captured in a timeless piece of art

Humans have always looked up to a starry night sky with a
mix of hope and reverence. It is no wonder, then, that customized and memorable
star maps depicting a pivotal moment in one’s life are in high demand. SpaceJo,
a Jordanian online shop, realized the potential of this niche and is the up and

SpaceJo was established one year ago by an MBA student, Sujood Nwateer.
“I have always cherished special and personalized gifts that come from a place of love and give the recipient a sense of uniqueness. I also happen to love keeping memories and helping people find ethereal gifts that make them happy. That is how SpaceJo saw the light; we create star maps which features the view of the night sky and constellations on a specific date and precise location. In a sense, these customized star maps are a subtle way to commemorate the special moments of our lives,” Nwateer told Jordan News.

The special occasions for which a star map can be ordered is only limited by one’s imagination. They include traditional occasions, such as natal charts, i.e., the stars’ positioning at someone’s birth, as a birthday gif or engagement and wedding anniversaries, career significant milestones or even as a celebration of Mother’s Day.
It can be a lingering token, deeply kept in time or consciousness, of a moment; the moment you first saw someone, the moment you realized your world had changed or the night your heart skipped a beat.
These star maps are also ideal gifts for friends who know their birth chart like the back of their hand, the sister who keeps on sending astrology memes or the aunt who believes in omens occurring through equinox.

The framed star maps come in different sizes: A3 (30X42), A4 (20X30) and A5 (14X21) and at a variety of price points.
“I design the maps into different shapes, and the customers can personalize theirs by adding in a quote, a song, a barcode or even a picture. The finalized map is then packaged into frames. Each map has an element that is meant to elicit buried memories, connect otherwise very different people, and capture what words cannot,” Nwateer said.
Delivery is available across Jordan “because the one thing that will mess with your mood more than a Mercury retrograde is a delivery cutoff”.

The star maps are verifiable and accurate. Satellite catalogues are used to precisely locate and capture the stars’ beauty and give the customers a way to enjoy that beauty, which is why Nwateer plans to extend her line of products with the same theme: sky-map keychains and acrylic frames, among others.
