Michael Giacchino’s birthday steals the spotlight at the Ray Gunn premiere
According to Variety, the moment took place on Saturday during a presentation of the film at the Royal Festival Hall as part of the BFI London Film Festival.
Bird revealed to the audience that the cinematic occasion coincided with Giacchino’s birthday before inviting the film’s two stars to join him in celebrating.

Giacchino made the most of the moment, taking a group selfie with the participants and capturing the festive atmosphere that added a special touch to the film’s premiere. The movie blends science fiction with neo-noir style.

Scarlett Johansson reveals why she joined Ray Gunn
Speaking about her experience on the film, Scarlett Johansson said that working with director Brad Bird was the main reason she joined the project. She expressed her admiration for his work and said she had long wanted the opportunity to work under his direction.

“I was so excited to work with Brad because I’m such a huge fan of his. Collaborating with him on any project has always been a dream of mine. I really wanted to work with him,” Johansson said.

Johansson voices Venus Nova, a famous pop music star romantically involved with Raymond Gunn, a private detective voiced by Sam Rockwell.

The American actress praised the way Bird developed the film’s characters, saying his artistic vision made the experience different from her previous work in animated films.

“And, of course, he has crafted his characters to be incredibly complex. I’ve worked with animated film directors before, but my experience with Brad on this film was completely different because he approaches the work from a different artistic perspective,” she added.
