The family mourned Yasmin in a statement, with her father announcing her death following a sudden health crisis. He said funeral prayers and the burial would take place Sunday night after the Isha prayer.
Naglaa Fathy married engineer Seifullah Abu Al-Naga in the mid-1970s, following her first marriage to actor Ahmed Khalil.
Seif Abu Al-Naga is the elder brother of actor Khaled Abu Al-Naga. He had one notable appearance in Egyptian cinema, playing Mustafa, the eldest son of actress Faten Hamama, in the acclaimed 1972 film Empire M.
Despite the film’s major success, Seif Abu Al-Naga did not pursue an acting career and chose to stay away from the spotlight, focusing instead on his profession as an architect.
His marriage to Naglaa Fathy resulted in the birth of their only daughter, Yasmin, before the couple later separated.
Fathy subsequently married late journalist and writer Hamdi Kandil in 1992, and the couple remained married until his death.
