AMMAN — The
SOFEX 2022 Conference which
is being held for the first time in the city of Aqaba, is an important
opportunity for the Kingdom to attract military investments of various kinds,
promote tourism in Jordan, in general, and in the city of Aqaba in particular,
according to Al-Mamlaka TV.

Chief Commissioner of the
Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) Nayef Al-Bakheet said Wednesday that the exhibition, in
the fields of special operations equipment and national security, was successful
in familiarizing several countries with the progress achieved by the Jordan
Armed Forces in all areas.|
The exhibition will also contribute to advancing the
overall national economy, he said, adding that it provides a great opportunity
to attract investments to Jordan, which enjoys a high level of security, peace,
and stability, and has a diverse investment potential, as well as to promote
tourism in the country through visitors from various countries.
Conference and exhibition tourism is a new direction ASEZA
seeks, and direct land, sea and air access to this port city encourages it,
Bakheet said, adding that the
Aqaba Development Company, the executive arm of
ASEZA, will bid for the construction of a special exhibition center to house
all kinds of exhibitions.
