No plan to privatize NEPCO — EMRC head

AMMAN — Head of Electricity and Renewable Energy Department at the Energy and Minerals Regulatory Commission (EMRC) Mohammed Maaiyaah denied any intention to privatize Jordan National Electric Company, according to Ammon News.اضافة اعلان

Maaiyaah said regulations stipulate that the electricity distributing company must be owned by the government. There are three electricity distributing companies in three regions of the Kingdom.

The Qatraneh Power plant has a capacity of 370megawatt and uses conventional power sources such as gas and diesel, he said.
