Jordanian expatriates sent home $3.45b in remittances in 2022

AMMAN — Jordanian expatriates sent home $3.45 billion in remittances in 2022, a 6.9 percent decrease compared to pre-pandemic levels in 2019, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. اضافة اعلان

In December of 2022 alone, Jordanian expatriates sent $319.3 million, a 6.7 percent increase from the same month in 2021, according to data from the Central Bank of Jordan.

According to estimations, there are approximately 786,000 Jordanians living abroad, or around 10.5 percent of the country's total population.

The majority of these expatriates live in Saudi Arabia, followed by the UAE, the US, Kuwait, and Qatar.
