Al-Dabbas added that the tourism sector has requested a one-year grace period before loan repayments begin. Additionally, the sector has called for a review of tax burdens to provide further relief amidst the current regional circumstances.

In turn, the Chairman of the Jordan Inbound Tour Operators Association (JITOA), Nabih Riyal, stated that the government’s move to support the tourism sector during the ongoing regional tensions is a "step in the right direction." He emphasized that such measures are vital to ensuring the sector's sustainability and bolstering its recovery from the successive crises affecting the region.

Riyal also urged the government to explore comprehensive solutions and support schemes similar to the "Istidama" (Sustainability) program implemented during the COVID-19 pandemic, aiming to enable tourism businesses to retain their employees. — (Al-Mamlaka)
