According to recently released data in the company’s annual report, the volume reached 5.943 billion cubic feet in 2025, compared with 6.1 billion cubic feet in 2024, 6.13 billion cubic feet in 2023, 5.382 billion cubic feet in 2022 and 6.526 billion cubic feet in 2021.

Financially, the company’s total gas sales amounted to JD16.406 million in 2025, compared with JD16.645 million in 2024. The company’s share of gas sales stood at JD13.125 million, compared with JD13.316 million the previous year.

Under its future strategic plan, the company aims to raise average daily natural gas production to around 400 million cubic feet per day by 2030. The plan seeks to strengthen the contribution of domestic resources to the national energy mix, reduce reliance on imports, meet Jordan’s natural gas needs and explore future export opportunities.

The strategy is based on several key areas, including expanding exploration and drilling operations, developing production infrastructure, maximizing the economic benefits of natural gas and attracting industrial investment. These efforts are intended to increase value added to the national economy and strengthen energy security.

In this context, the company plans to expand exploration activities, geological studies and the drilling of new wells to increase production. It has contracted an external drilling contractor to drill 80 wells over the next four years, in addition to wells the company will drill using its own rigs, while focusing on reducing operating costs, improving production efficiency and ensuring sustainable operations.

The company also plans to build a new gas processing plant to accommodate additional natural gas volumes. Preliminary economic feasibility studies are currently being conducted with local and government entities to finance the construction of a 320-kilometer pipeline linking the Risha gas field to the Arab Gas Pipeline, which would be a key component in developing gas marketing operations.

Future plans also include attracting investment in petrochemical, mining and manufacturing industries and encouraging the industrial sector to establish value-added projects. These include fertilizer production, steel, cement and glass manufacturing, textile industries, food processing, plastics, synthetic and composite materials, pharmaceuticals and water desalination.

The company is betting on using natural gas for benefits extending beyond its direct economic returns by providing energy inputs for various industries, contributing to sustainable and inclusive economic growth, increasing reliance on domestic energy sources and reducing the import bill.

Regarding reserves, the latest comprehensive study assessing gas reserves at the Risha field, conducted over approximately 30 months with results released in 2024, produced varying estimates of the gas volumes in place and the recoverable quantities.

According to the study, the estimated gas in place stands at approximately 9.39 trillion cubic feet under the low estimate, while the best estimate is 11.99 trillion cubic feet and the high estimate reaches 14.6 trillion cubic feet.

Recoverable gas is estimated at 2.852 trillion cubic feet under the low estimate, 4.66 trillion cubic feet under the best estimate and as much as 6.36 trillion cubic feet under the high estimate.
