Meanwhile, inflation recorded in June 2026 compared to the same month in 2025 was driven by several goods and services, most notably the transportation group at around 1.27 percentage points, followed by rents at 0.76 percentage points, and oils and fats at 0.28 percentage points.

On the other hand, a drop in the prices of several items limited the inflation rise during June, most notably the meat and poultry category, which lowered the inflation rate by (0.23) percentage points.

The calculation of the Consumer Price Index (inflation) relies on a consumer basket containing 850 commodities, including 325 food items and 525 non-food items, with prices gathered from a survey sample of 3,400 establishments.
