Industrial production volumes in the Kingdom increased by 1.44 percent during the first ten months of the current year, reaching an index level of 88.89 points, compared with 87.62 points for the same period in 2024.

According to the monthly report on the General Industrial Production Quantity Index issued today, Sunday, by the Department of Statistics, this increase over the ten-month period was driven by a 1.40 percent rise in production volumes in the manufacturing sector, which carries a relative importance of 88.7 percent, and a 3.31 percent increase in electricity production, with a relative importance of 5.9 percent. In contrast, production volumes in the extractive industries sector declined by 0.42 percent, which represents a relative importance of 5.4 percent.
On a monthly basis, the general industrial production quantity index rose by 1.19 percent in October compared with the same month in 2024, while it declined by 1.41 percent compared with the preceding month of September in the same year. It is worth noting that the base year has been revised to (2018 = 100) instead of (2010 = 100).
The index for October stood at 88.20 points, compared with 87.17 points for the same month in 2024. The industrial production quantity index for October also recorded 88.20 points, compared with 89.47 points in September of the same year.
In terms of monthly change, the general industrial production quantity index for October increased compared with the same month in 2024 due to a 0.87 percent rise in manufacturing production volumes, which account for 88.7 percent of relative importance, a 3.36 percent increase in extractive industries production volumes, with a relative importance of 5.4 percent, and a 4.0 percent increase in electricity production volumes, which carry a relative importance of 5.9 percent.
At the sectoral level, when comparing the index for October with that of September, production volumes in the manufacturing sector declined by 1.51 percent, those in the electricity sector fell by 6.83 percent, while production volumes in the extractive industries sector increased by 6.70 percent.
