Gold prices generally stabilized near a one-week high on Thursday, as investors remained cautious while awaiting further details regarding a potential peace agreement between the United States and Iran.

Spot gold held steady at $4,688.16 per ounce by 00:59 GMT, following a nearly 3% surge on Wednesday to its highest level since April 27. Meanwhile, U.S. gold futures for June delivery edged up 0.1% to $4,696.60.
On Wednesday, Iran stated it was considering a U.S. peace proposal that sources say would officially end the war; however, it leaves key U.S. demands regarding the suspension of Iran's nuclear program and the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz unresolved.
Other Precious Metals:
Spot silver fell 0.2% to $77.16 per ounce.
Platinum rose 0.1% to $2,062.50.
Palladium dropped 0.3% to $1,533.25.
