Iraqi nationals topped foreign property ownership transactions in Jordan during the first half of 2026 and also ranked first in June in terms of both the number of property purchases and total investment value, according to data released by the Department of Lands and Survey.

The data showed that non-Jordanians completed 1,046 property ownership transactions during the first half of 2026, a 6% decrease compared with the same period in 2025. The total included 653 apartments, up 5%, and 393 land plots, down 19%.

The estimated value of these transactions reached JOD 100.034 million during the first half of the year, representing a 10% increase compared with the corresponding period in 2025. Apartment purchases accounted for JOD 55.975 million, while land purchases totaled JOD 44.059 million.

By nationality, Iraqi nationals ranked first with 267 property transactions, followed by Saudi nationals with 135, Syrians with 114, Palestinians with 100, and Americans with 73.

In terms of investment value, Iraqis also led with JOD 46.958 million, followed by Palestinians with JOD 7.937 million, Syrians with JOD 6.490 million, Americans with JOD 5.904 million, Britons with JOD 4.747 million, and Saudis with JOD 4.158 million.

During June, Iraqis again ranked first with 45 property ownership transactions, followed by Syrians with 24, Palestinians with 22, Saudis with 15, while both American and British nationals recorded 11 transactions each.

Iraqi investors also led in terms of investment value during June, with JOD 13.176 million, followed by Palestinians with JOD 2.008 million, Britons with JOD 1.639 million, Syrians with JOD 1.398 million, and Saudis with JOD 1.005 million.
