The selling prices per gram for 24-karat and 18-karat gold at jewelry shops stood at 105.30 dinars and 81.30 dinars, respectively.
Ribhi Allan, head of the General Association for Owners of Jewelry and Goldsmithing Shops, stated in a press release that the price of the 7-gram Rashadi gold coin reached 638 dinars, while the 8-gram English gold coin stood at 730 dinars.
Allan noted that the supply and demand for gold for savings and investment purposes in the local market remains weak, despite price stability.
Regarding upcoming market activity, Allan anticipated a slight improvement in the coming days for jewelry purchases, coinciding with the start of the wedding and holiday season.
He added that the yellow metal closed its weekly global market trading on Friday at $4,510 per ounce.
Allan pointed out that the relative stability of gold prices in the market is attributed to ongoing discussions regarding a potential return to conflict with Iran or achieving peace through Pakistani mediation. Additionally, upcoming meetings of the U.S. Federal Reserve and its new administration to determine new policies related to the strength of the dollar are also influencing the market.
