Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Saleh Al-Kharabsheh, emphasized on Thursday that developing laboratories offering comprehensive services in quality assurance, testing, and accreditation in the energy sector, using the latest globally approved analytical devices and technologies, aligns with the economic modernization vision and the directives of His Majesty King Abdullah II. The aim is to empower national institutions, enhance the efficiency of vital sectors, and strengthen readiness to cope with rapid technological and industrial changes.

Al-Kharabsheh made these remarks during the inauguration of the new GOTECH laboratory for petroleum products and petrochemicals, operated by the Jordanian Logistics Company for Oil Facilities in Aqaba. The event was attended by the Ministers of Industry, Trade, and Environment, along with public and private sector representatives.
He highlighted that the laboratory represents an important addition to the national infrastructure supporting the energy sector, enhancing reliability and accuracy in specialized laboratory testing. He also stressed that public-private partnerships form a cornerstone for sustainable development, improving service quality, and creating a competitive work environment that strengthens Jordan’s position in the Arab region.
Ashraf Al-Rawashdeh, Director General of GOTECH, stated that the laboratory is a major milestone in the company’s journey toward expansion and excellence, reflecting its commitment to enhancing operational efficiency and innovation in the energy sector, in support of the Ministry’s efforts to develop the national oil infrastructure.
Al-Rawashdeh added that the inauguration is part of the company’s strategic vision to strengthen its local and regional presence by improving technical services and expanding activities in the oil and gas sector. Specialized laboratories now provide high-precision testing services for petroleum products and petrochemicals, boosting technical capabilities and service quality, while opening new opportunities for collaboration with industrial and research institutions in the region.

The company has contracted with Bureau Veritas, a global leader in inspection, testing, and certification, to provide specialized technical expertise and ensure the laboratory operates according to the best international practices.
