Assistant Secretary-General for the Middle East, Asia, and the Pacific, Mohamed Khaled Khiari, delivered a briefing on behalf of the Department of Political and Peacebuilding Affairs and the Department of Peace Operations.
It is worth noting that closed consultations are only open to UN officials and Security Council members.
Following the meeting, the Pakistani representative stated that the India-Pakistan issue—particularly the matter of Kashmir—has remained on the Council's agenda for more than seven decades.
