Trump had previously confirmed that "talks are moving at a fast pace" with Iran, following a report by Iran’s Tasnim News Agency stating that Tehran had suspended discussions with Washington due to Israel's escalation of the war in Lebanon.

In a post on his social media platform, Truth Social, Trump wrote: "Talks are moving at a fast pace with Iran." This came shortly after he confirmed in another post that Israel and Hezbollah had agreed to a halt in hostilities.

Furthermore, in an interview with NBC News, Trump stated that he had not received anything from Iran indicating a suspension of talks with the United States, adding that silence would be preferable and signaling his readiness to wait.

"I think we talk too much, if you want to know the truth," Trump said. "I think silence would be a very good thing, and it could last for a long time."

Trump was also quoted as saying: "That doesn't mean we're going to start dropping bombs all over the place... We're going to keep silent, and we're going to keep the blockade." He added, "I think I can wait as long as they want. They are suffering heavy losses."

Earlier, Tasnim News Agency reported that Iran had halted indirect negotiations with the United States after Israel ordered its forces to continue advancing deeper into Lebanese territory, complicating diplomatic efforts to end the three-month-old war.

Trump remarked that Iranians are better negotiators than fighters, but reiterated that he had not been informed of any suspension of talks on their part.
