The official said Netanyahu hopes to meet with U.S. President Donald Trump, although it remains unclear whether the meeting will take place.
Netanyahu is seeking talks with Trump following the renewed U.S. blockade on Iranian ports. However, no date has yet been set for a potential meeting.
According to the report, Netanyahu's office had sought to arrange a meeting with Trump last week. Their most recent meeting took place on February 11 in the White House Situation Room.
Among the reasons for Netanyahu's desire to meet Trump promptly is an effort to restore confidence that was strained following the conflict with Iran, as members of Trump's inner circle have increasingly suggested that Netanyahu's assessments regarding the war had been inaccurate.
