Preliminary shipping data showed on Wednesday that three vessels carrying commodities passed through the Strait of Hormuz on Tuesday, down from four vessels the previous day and below the 10-day moving average of around 15 vessels.

The figures may change, as some vessels routinely switch off their automatic identification system (AIS) transponders while sailing.
Kpler vessel-tracking data showed at 02:00 GMT that the three vessels, including a Panamax-class tanker, were departing the strait.
Data from Kpler and the London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) showed that the LNG carrier Al Mfeer reappeared inside the strait on Tuesday after last being seen outside the waterway on September 19.
Before the outbreak of the US-Iran conflict, the Strait of Hormuz carried one-fifth of global oil and gas supplies.
US President Donald Trump warned on Tuesday that he could “annihilate” Iran if no agreement could be reached to end the war, while also indicating that a deal could be reached soon amid diplomatic efforts at the United Nations.
Meanwhile, 22 vessels carrying commodities passed through the Bab el-Mandeb Strait on Tuesday, another maritime chokepoint off Yemen’s southwestern coast and a vital trade route for transporting oil between the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden.
The data showed that 14 vessels were heading toward the Red Sea and eight toward the Gulf of Aden. The vessels included five Panamax-class tankers, six Supramax vessels, four Aframax tankers, one Suezmax tanker and one very large crude carrier (VLCC).
The figure compares with an average of around 26 vessels that passed through the strait over the previous 10 days.
