The Canadian government announced on Friday that it has removed Syria from its list of foreign states designated as sponsors of terrorism.
In a statement, the government said: “These measures align with recent decisions taken by our allies, including the United Kingdom and the United States, and follow the efforts of the Syrian transitional government to strengthen stability in Syria, build an inclusive and secure future for its citizens, and work with global partners to promote regional stability and combat terrorism.”
