Araghchi to Trump: America’s Real Pain Will Begin with Spikes in Debt and Mortgages
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi responded on Saturday to U.S. President Donald Trump, asserting that the "real pain" for America will begin when U.S. national debt and mortgage rates start to skyrocket.اضافة اعلان

Commenting on the economic repercussions for the United States following the aggression against Iran, Araghchi stated on the "X" platform: "Americans are being told they must bear the heavy costs of a retaliatory war against Iran."

He added: "Set aside for a moment the rising gasoline prices and the stock market bubble. The real pain begins when U.S. debt and mortgage rates start jumping. Already, auto loan delinquency rates have hit their highest level in over 30 years. All of this could have been avoided."

Araghchi's remarks came in response to statements by Trump, in which the U.S. President said that Americans would have to endure "short-term pain" regarding the fallout of a war with Iran.

Addressing the controversy sparked by his previous comment that he was "not thinking about America's financial situation," Trump said: "It's very simple. When people hear what I say, everyone agrees. There will be short-term pain, yes, but it will be brief. However, this pain is far less than what people had anticipated."

Regarding the Iranian issue, Trump added: "I will do what is right. I must do what is right... The strait will be opened, they will not have a nuclear weapon, and the world will continue to move forward."
